Nigeria is approaching the 2027 elections in a moment of deep fatigue, distrust, and civic confusion. Young people are politically aware but often disconnected from the mechanics of governance, overwhelmed by narratives, and unsure where pressure should be applied.
The Citizen Townhall intervenes before the noise peaks. It is designed to:
- Reframe electoral decision-making away from personalities and tribes toward human development outcomes.
- Translate policy and governance into everyday language and lived consequences.
- Position youth and women not as spectators, but as central civic actors.
- Create a shared civic memory and vocabulary that participants carry back into their communities and digital spaces.
The Theme: Who Shapes The Nigerian Life?
Voting is one tool, but not the only one. Advocacy, media, culture, community organising, and sustained civic pressure all shape outcomes long before and long after election day. We want citizens to understand both their power and their stake in the system.
